The opera coach is a someone who helps singer meet a better result of singing artistically,through better language,better understanding of the song and better musicality.The opera coach must have a wide knowledge,from a full understanding of human physiognomy and the human voice,to the many languages used in Western vocal music,to the entire expanse of the opera repertoire.The role of opera coach is known in Western countries,but often neglected and sometimes misunderstood in some Asian countries.The goal of this thesis is to describe the role of opera coach,and how they deliver their role,through Beethoven’s Liederkreis An die Ferne Geliebte as an example.Also,the role of opera coach will be divided into four parts;poetic understanding,language,musical interpretation and piano accompaniment.Analysis is being done by reading materials,listening and watching videos,comparing and analysis.
