Research On The Construction Of "Gou X" In Modern Chinese

This article takes "gou X" construction in modern Chinese as the research object,and uses construction grammar and cognitive grammar theories to investigate the classification of components of the construction,the relationship between the prototype and the expansion of the construction,and the motivation and mechanism of the construction.The full text is divided into five chapters;the main contents are as follows:The first chapter is the introduction,explaining the reasons and significance of the research topic,research status,research objects,goals and ideas,innovations,research methods and sources of corpus.This part briefly introduces the construction grammar theories,combs the research status of "gou" and related constructions,and uses Goldberg’s definition of construction to identify the research objects of this article.The second chapter examines the component composition and semantic classification of the "gou X" construction in modern Chinese.From the perspective of components,the constant term "gou" is in the process of adverbialization."X" allows the entry of verbal,nominal,adjective,and clauses;from the semantic point of view,the components entering "X" are divided into three categories: concrete and precise quantity,abstract and fuzzy quantity,and abstract and metric quantity based on the quantitative basis of "quantity/measure".The third chapter sorts out the relationship between the prototype construction and the extended construction of the modern Chinese "gou X" construction based on the replacement of core components.This chapter examines the constructional meaning,extended inheritance,syntactic and semantic attributes of sub-constructions.The "gou X" construction is based on the "quantity-fuzzy-measure" continuum as the classification basis,which indicates "the meaning of objective evaluation" or " high degree of meaning about subjective evaluation" and "subjective evaluation of a large number of meaning",and its expansion shifts from the domain of action to the domain of quantity and then to the domain of traits.The expansibility of the construction from "objective appraisal meaning" to "subjective appraisal meaning" gradually deteriorates because the different roles of participants are emphasized.Constructions are mainly used as predicates and attributives in sentences;modified by range adverbs,mood adverbs,time adverbs,and degree adverbs;independent sentence formation is poor,relying on contextual information,and often serves as regular focus and broad focus in the sentence.The fourth chapter focuses on the investigation of the internal relations,causes and mechanisms of the construction.The modern Chinese "gou X" construction is divided into four levels: macroscopic,mesoscopic,microscopic,and structural examples.From the perspective of the inheritance relationship of the construction and the related psychological principles of language organization,there are reasons for the production of the construction.Its production is related to the three motivations,including metaphor,component interaction and suppression,and high-frequency use.Conceptual integration and analogy are the mechanisms of structural changes.Under the specific operation of these mechanisms,the structural changes are truly manifested in the language structure.Finally,it is the conclusion that summarizes the research content of this article,and points out the shortcomings of this article and the content to be studied.
