| The rapid development of the information society has brought people into an era of information explosion.The information that people come into contact with through various channels such as mobile phones,computers,televisions,advertisements,and emails is massive every day.There are reports that the global information production doubles every 5 years.The amount of information in the New York Times per week is equivalent to the total amount of information that scholars in the 17 th century can access throughout their lives;in the past 30 years,the information produced by humans has been More than the sum of information production in the past 5000 years.The accumulation of huge amount of information on the one hand greatly enriches people’s cognitive experience,on the other hand,it also brings obstacles to how people can quickly identify and process information.In this context,information visualization design came into being.Information visualization design was first proposed by Stuart K.Card,Jock D.Mackinlay and George G.Robertson in 1989.It mainly refers to the transformation of data information and knowledge information.It becomes a visual form that makes full use of people’s ability to recognize at a high speed in visual mode,emphasizes the simplification,beautification and optimization of information,helps people process information quickly,saves time and costs,and improves the efficiency of information dissemination.At present,information visualization design has been vigorously promoted and applied in the fields of media communication,business development,business management and industrial development.Fashion magazines have an important influence on people’s lifestyles,values and public aesthetics,and they are also the vane of public aesthetics.As the first element of magazine design,cover design plays a vital role in guiding the information dissemination of magazines..This topic develops information visualization design based on the information on the change of the cover of fashion magazines.The object of practice selected for the thesis is "VOGUE Fashion and Beauty" magazine,which has been published since 2005 and has issued 188 issues so far.It is in the fashion magazine industry.Has important influence.The data selected in this study are based on the 184 issues of the 16-year period from 2005 to 2020 of "VOGUE Apparel and Beauty" magazine as the research sample.The cover information is extracted,and the layout,age and gender of the cover person are respectively summarized.,Occupation,nationality,character image,color application and other elements.On this basis,we combine the design principles of visual attraction,clear logic,simplicity,flow of sight,and silence,which are emphasized in the information visualization design,and try to perform the first-level and second-level conversion of information in a graphical manner.Based on the display of information elements,it presents an overall visual effect that is intuitive,time-sensitive and interesting.I hope to try to enrich the ways and means of information visualization design through this practice,so as to explore various forms of information dissemination. |
