With the continuous development of corpus translation studies, the phenomena of explication and implication in translation have attracted widespread attention in translation studies, and have also provided new paths and new horizons for translation studies.Explication and implication are not only a pair of translation phenomena, but also a set of translation strategies of unity of opposites. However, the manifestation of explication and implication is the opposite. The former is represented by one or several meaning units, while the latter is reduced from more meaning units to fewer meaning units.Translation studies have different classifications of explication and implication types in translations.Obviously, this is closely related to the principle of classification. This article mainly analyzes the types of explication and implication in terms of form and meaning, and points out the purpose of using explication and implication strategies in translation. This is the theoretical core and research cornerstone of the full text.Based on the two Chinese translations of Anna Karenina, this article attempts to explore the causes of the phenomenon of explication and implication from the internal and external factors of the language. The internal factors of language involve grammatical factors, textual factors and the amount of symbols, and the external factors of language include cultural differences, communication situations and aesthetic pursuits.Studies have shown that the many differences between Russian and Chinese cause translators to use explicit or hidden means in the translation process to ensure the complete transmission of the translated information and the effective realization of the communicative function.Borrowing the theory of explication and implication can interpret the strategies of domestication and foreignization in the Chinese translation of Anna Karenina.Whether it is adopting the strategy of domestication or foreignization,it can be realized through the phenomenon of explication and implication of the translation. It can be seen that the study of the phenomenon of explicitness and implicitness is of great significance to literary translation. In short,in the process of literary translation,if the translator can thoroughly understand the theory of explication and implication translation, and properly and reasonably do explication or implication processing of the original text, not only can the picture of the source language culture be preserved, but the original author’s perspective can also be accurately expressed.Intentions, thereby promoting cultural exchanges between different languages,so that readers can better absorb foreign cultures.
