In the context of the rapid development of educational informatization,English discipline tools are also constantly improving.The "National Medium and Long-term Reform and Development Plan Outline(2010-2020)" clearly states that the realization of educational modernization needs to be driven by educational informatization.Since the country has promoted the informatization of education,the development of informatization resources such as subject tools has become the focus of attention.The English subject tools,with their rich educational resources,perfect education system,and sound human-computer interaction functions,play a major role in cultivating students’ English listening and speaking skills.Therefore,this article aims at the current problems in English teaching,such as: teachers still prefer to use traditional teaching methods and teaching modes,and the low frequency of using auxiliary applications such as whiteboards,etc.,and develops the use of English subject tools to improve students’ listening an empirical study of ability.First of all,through the literature research method,the relevant concepts of English subject tools and English listening and speaking ability are defined.In this article,English subject tools refer to: designed and developed based on the characteristics of the English subject,which can bring help to the teaching of informatized English subject of computer software products.In addition,it analyzes the domestic and foreign research status of English subject tools,and clarifies the factors that affect the development of students’ English listening and speaking skills,including linguistic factors and non-linguistic factors.Through a large amount of literature review,we refer to and form the oral proficiency test standards.The specific dimensions of the oral proficiency test standards include word accuracy,phonetic intonation,number of sentences,and grammar.And before the start of the experiment,the credibility of the test dimension was tested.Then,it sorts out the English subject tools that have an effect on students’ listening and speaking ability,and analyzes the functions,advantages and disadvantages of each subject tool in detail.And in-depth analysis of the role of English subject tools on different listening and speaking ability classification standards,combined with the actual teaching,according to the classification standards that the listening and speaking ability needs to achieve-which teachers’ teaching activities can cultivate the classification standardssupport the activity The required functions—the idea of disciplinary tools with these functions are used to select disciplinary tools.Through comparative analysis,it is finally determined to use Yike.com as the English subject tool of this research.It also designs the functions of Wingke.com and English listening and speaking teaching activities based on Wingke.com,and proposes strategies for the use of English subject tools.Finally,a quasi-experimental study was carried out by taking Ningxia Wuzhong No.4 Middle School as an example.The subjects of the experiment were students in the seventh grade of Wuzhong No.4 Middle School.The teachers of the experimental class and the control class are the same.The experimental class is the 14 th grade of the seventh grade,and the control class is the 13 th grade of the seventh grade.Through experiments,the effect of using strategies based on English subject tools on improving the English listening and speaking ability of junior high school students is verified.During the experiment,in order to collect students’ listening and speaking data and observe teachers’ attitudes towards the use of subject tools,the main experimental tools prepared are:listening test papers,oral test papers and teacher interview outlines.Collect data during the experiment,such as: students’ listening test paper scores,oral test paper scores,teacher interview outlines and accompanying data from Yike.com,etc.,and analyze the data.Through the analysis of the collected data,it is found that the use strategies based on English subject tools are effective in improving the listening comprehension and oral expression skills of junior high school students.This research has improved the students’ English listening and speaking ability to a certain extent,and provided a part of theoretical support for the research of English subject tools.
