English reading teaching is the main way for students to understand and absorb written information.It is the basis and premise for the cultivation of comprehensive language application ability.It helps students to enrich their language knowledge,improve their learning ability,expand their international vision and form cross-cultural awareness.English reading teaching is also one of the main ways to implement the core quality of English.Of the materials used in the region,the fourth grade reading teaching editorial content is given priority to with language segment in brief,this design highlights the structure of language,but also lead to language content empty,rigid form of language,lack of interest,such as faults.Students need to be exposed to more stylistic forms of discourse and more interesting content to make up for the shortcomings in the textbook.However,teacher’s teaching idea still stranded in the teaching materials on literary texts is phase.In the survey of the current situation of reading teaching before the research,it was found that more than 50%of the teachers believed that there was room to supplement extracurricular resources in regular reading teaching,and they were willing to try to apply extracurricular resources to in-class exploration.Based on this,this thesis mainly expounds the extracurricular reading resources in the application of the conventional reading teaching,to stimulate students’ reading interest and improve their reading ability,enhance the consciousness of English extracurricular reading,by the purpose of in-class affect extracurricular.Based on the "language input hypothesis" as the basic theoretical basis,this study selects students from two classes(110 in total)in grade four of Y primary school as the research objects,focusing on the research of what extracurricular reading resources to read,how to apply these resources in teaching and the impact of such application on students.In the two rounds of action research,statistics and analysis were conducted on the pre-and post-test data and data collected by 6 reflective journals,1 student interview(12 people),2 teacher interviews(3 people each time),4 student reading feedback CARDS(110 pieces each time)and questionnaires.The whole research process,from teaching teachers,class teachers,three groups research object,in different stages,different point of view of different types of information collected,in order to provide strong arguments for research conclusion,and draw the following conclusion:1.This paper summarizes and sorts out the six extracurricular reading resources used in the teaching,and describes the characteristics of the reading materials from three aspects: the knowledge content and length,the matching degree with the textbook,and the style and form of expression.That is,the extracurricular reading materials that meet these characteristics canbe used in the fourth grade reading teaching.2.The application for resource way,found that different stylistic structure or characteristics of extracurricular reading resources applied differently.Some of the longer texts may be selected and taught in the way of guided reading in class.After class,reading requirements are assigned,and students continue to read the rest.The short text can be taught in class.Poems or picture books with juxtaposition can be taught by a teacher in a small part,read by the whole class in groups and so on.In a word,no matter what method is used,the combination of reading in class and reading after class plays an active role in students’ reading learning.3.The influence on students is as follows: more than half of the students often do extracurricular reading,30.9% can read 6-10 books in a semester,and 32.7% can read 11-15 English extracurricular reading books,each time lasting 15-25 minutes;Students’ interest in English reading learning and extracurricular reading was stimulated,and nearly 80% of them liked reading classes with reading resources.Students’ reading ability has been improved slightly,but their reading habit still needs to be cultivated for a longer time...
