| Objective: This study aimed to assess the level and distribution characteristics of coping style and belief in just world among medical students in China Medical University, the distribution characteristics of coping style, and control other related factors,to clarify the influence of belief in just world on coping style, and to control other related factors,to clarify the influence of belief in just world on coping style. To establish the mental health training model of medical students and to provide scientific education guidance. Methods: In this study, stratified cluster sampling was used to randomly select one of the clinical students, and all grades of,public health and other medical technology related majors in China Medical University.A total of 1578 questionnaires and 1304 valid questionnaires were distributed, and the effective response rate was 82.6%.The simple coping style scale and belief in the just world scale of college students were used to evaluate the distribution of coping style and belief in the just world of medical students in school and the priority of belief in the just world among the influencing factors of coping style.Statistical analysis of data using SPSS22.0 software and SAS9.2software.In univariate analysis, active and negative coping styles were compared between the two groups using t-test,multi-group comparison using ANOVA,the correlation between active/negative coping styles and continuous variables using Pearson correlation analysis. In the results of univariate analysis,P<0.25 factor entered the multivariate analysis, and the generalized linear model was used to explore the influence of each factor on active and negative coping styles. Results: The scores of active coping style and negative coping style of medical students in China Medical University were(1.98±0.47)and(1.13±0.52),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Belief in the just world score was(65.91±8.08),and the three dimensions of ultimate justice, intrinsic injustice and intrinsic justice were(26.46±4.05),(20.85±3.84),and(18.56±2.65).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Univariate results showed that gender, region, family economic status, parental education, belief in the just world, depressive symptoms, social avoidance and distress, and learning motivation were associated with active coping styles in the survey population(P<0.05);negative coping styles in the survey population were associated with ethnicity, depressive symptoms, and social avoidance and distress(P<0.05).The results of the multivariate generalized linear regression model show that, after controlling for sex,the factors related to the active coping styles of the survey population were ranked by Beta values as belief in the just world(Beta=0.268,P<0.001),learning motivation(Beta<0.173,P<0.001),social avoidance and distress(Beta<-0.157,P<0.001),gender(male vs.female: Beta<-0.096,P=0.002),depressive symptoms(Beta=-0.091,P=0.002),,parents’ education(primary school and below vs.university and above:Beta=-0.076,P=0.008);The factors associated with negative coping styles in the survey population were ranked as depressive symptoms(Beta=0.281,P<0.001),ethnic group(Han vs.Others: Beta=0.132,P<0.001),social avoidance and distress(Beta=0.064,P=0.035).Conclusion: The results showed that coping style of medical students in China Medical University, whether active or negative, was at a higher level, and the score of active coping style was significantly higher than that of negative coping style. The belief in the just world and ultimate justice, internal injustice, internal justice are at a higher level.Among them, psychosocial factors are the primary influencing factors of positive coping style and negative coping style, the correlation between positive coping style and just world belief is the highest, and the correlation between negative coping style and depressive symptoms is the highest. In addition, general demographic characteristics also have an impact on stress patterns. |
