Sugarcane is one of the most important sugar crops in China.however, weeds can easily grow in sugarcane as it has wide planting space, thus the utilization ratio of light energy is low, which makes the land cost of sugarcane cultivation in China higher than that of other crops. In order to achieve maximum land use efficiency soybean-sugarcane intercropping model has been extensively used for vertical improvement. In the present experiment study on sugarcane-soybean intercropping, sugarcane monocropping and soybean monocropping were carried out using two varieties of sugarcane Zhongzhe 1(ZZ 1)and Zhongzhe 9(ZZ 9)and one variety of soybean Guichundou 9.The study was further divided into above ground phenes and below ground phenes and their comparison. In the above ground phenes plant height, leaf length and stem weight along with photosynthesis rate and sugar content were calculated. The total Carbon(C)、nitrogen(N)and phosphorous(P)contents, root dry weight, and activity of four enzymes were recorded in sugarcane-soybean rhizosphere soil.Root structure of sugarcane intercropped soybean, sugarcanemonocropped and soybean monocropped were analyzed. The soil samples from each culture were analyzed by high throughput sequencing for quantification of microorganisms and effects of intercropping on microorganisms were also analyzed.Based on the high throughput results, some strains of rhizosphere beneficial bacteria were selected nitrogen-fixing bacteria,indole-3-acetic acid-producing(IAA)bacteria,1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid(ACC)deaminase producing bacteria. The results obtained from the study revealed that intercropping pattern increased the C、N and P content in the sugarcane rhizosphere soil by 78%,22%and 49.6%,respectively.The root length, root depth and root width of sugarcane increased by 6.2% and 48.5%、51.7% and 22.9% respectively. The activities of the four enzymes in the rhizosphere of intercropped sugarcane were also higher than that of monocropping. The best Nitrogen fixing bacteria and ACC deaminase producing bacteria performed better in the intercropping rhizosphere soil of sugarcane.Due to IAA strain, the intercropping yield was recorded as0.704 mg/l.So,it can be concluded that intercropping sugarcane and soybean is productive agricultural approach towards green farming.
