Research On Public Space Design Of Old Residential Areas In Guangzhou From The Perspective Of Organic Renewal

One side is the new high-rise buildings,and the other side is the old community with mottled walls.Guangzhou City has been exploring the coexistence and coexistence of "new" and "old" along the way.As witnesses to the development of the old city of Guangzhou,old communities exist in large numbers in the center of the city.However,the physical environment and service facilities at the time of initial construction have long been unable to meet the needs of modern society,and people have begun to adopt large-scale demolition and construction models.Renovation of old neighborhoods.The indiscriminate model of large-scale demolition and large-scale renovation will cause problems such as urban environmental pollution,waste of resources,and social contradictions at the macro level.Therefore,we advocate the organic renewal of the old community in a small-scale,progressive and sustainable way,and at the same time improve the physical environment,continue the historical culture and life memory of the old community.Based on the discipline of environmental design,this thesis follows the research line of "discovering problems-raising problems-analyzing problems-solving problems-practice verification".First of all,based on theoretical research and case analysis,we will find deficiencies and ask questions.Second,through field research on typical old residential areas in Guangzhou,we will analyze the physical environment and humanistic environment of public spaces in the old residential areas that have not been renewed in Guangzhou.Starting from the activity space,road space,green space,public facilities,community culture and residents’ memory,etc.,the current situation of public space in old communities in Guangzhou is summarized: insufficient space vitality,serious private occupation by residents,and green levels.Single,lack of public facilities,cultural memory dissipated.For the old residential areas that have been updated in Guangzhou,we investigate and analyze their current update methods and content,and summarize the shortcomings of the current update model: the update content focuses on the material environment and updates,ignoring the construction of the human environment;The mechanism is not perfect,and it is easy to decay again.From the perspective of organic renewal,the author puts forward design principles for this series of problems: the overall organic principle,the organizational difference principle,and the process continuity principle.Based on this further extension,an organic renewal strategy for the public space of the old community has been formed:repairing the spatial texture and integrating spatial elements;refining the community elements and translating life memories;encouraging residents to participate and establishing tripartite cooperation.Finally,on the basis of theoretical analysis and field research,through the design practice of the old community renewal project,the positive effect of organic renewal on the public space renewal of old community is discussed.The thesis is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,purpose,significance and methods of public space renewal in old communities.Lay the foundation for the development of subsequent papers.The second chapter searches for relevant literature and materials,and defines and interprets the main concepts of the article.Collected domestic and foreign excellent cases for dismantling and analysis,analyzed their transformation content,transformation methods,participants,and post-production mechanisms,and summarized experience that can be used for reference.The third chapter selects the unrenovated and renovated old communities in Guangzhou to conduct on-the-spot investigation,analyzes the current situation and renovation methods of their public spaces horizontally and vertically,and summarizes the general characteristics of public spaces in old communities and the problems existing in the current renovation..The fourth chapter combines the previous theoretical carding,case analysis and field research,based on the principle of organic renewal,to obtain specific and feasible design strategies.The fifth chapter applies the design strategy to the practical design of the public space renewal of the old community in Guangzhou,and completes the renewal practice of the public space of the old community in Taiping Tongjin,Guangzhou.
