With the development of cities,many hot spots have emerged,gathering a large number of people and resources,and bearing the main production and living activities.Therefore,the traffic system is also under great pressure,and there are multiple problems that need to be solved.The complexity of urban traffic system is extremely high,and a variety of influencing factors are entangled with each other.The traffic planning scheme under the current system may be too macroscopic,and its guiding role for urban development is relatively limited.Based on the Sciences of Human Settlements put forward by Mr.Wu Liangyong,this study summarizes the concept of human settlements unit.The city is divided into several clusters,each of which is a human settlements unit.The study of traffic planning at this scale can better show the travel characteristics and focus on the practical problems.Multi-source data is a powerful tool for transportation planning in the context of big data.In this research,based on multi-source data,the index system of human settlements unit identification is established,the core area of human settlements unit is identified by kernel density analysis method,and the boundary of human settlements unit is divided by natural breakpoint method combining with the actual road network and administrative divisions,so as to obtain the human settlements unit which can be independently used as the research object of transportation planning.Taking the eastern area of Haidian District as an example,four human settlements units,such as Xueyuan Road Unit,Zhongguancun Unit,Zhichun Road Unit and Huayuan Road Unit,are identified,which is highly consistent with the residents’ perception of daily life.Supported by multi-source data with field investigation,this study fully understand the present situation of residential unit traffic.The basic road network is evaluated by space syntax,the types of human settlements units are identified by POI data,the distribution of occupational and residential areas and road network flow are obtained by mobile phone signaling data,and the operation status is grasped by the data of shared bikes and bus operations.After mastering the traffic conditions of the unit,the peopleoriented and sustainable development advocated by the Sciences of Human Settlements is taken as the leading idea to sort out the transportation planning concept,and the planning objectives and contents are formulated according to different traffic modes.Combined with the characteristics of the unit mastered by data analysis and field investigation,the paper puts forward guidelines for unit transportation planning,focuses on the important traffic issues in the unit,and puts forward planning proposals,such as the transformation of key road sections,market-oriented operation of parking resources,the construction of urban green corridor system--"urban wheel",the transformation of intersection guided by slow traffic,and the collection mode of urban logistics distribution,the construction of combined public transit network,etc.
