Considering the particular characteristics of aerospace products, the FTY(first time yield)of some products during the development is low.TH Company is under great stress in guarantee product delivery. In the meantime,re-doing as a result of low FTY leads to serious waste, which makes TH company high cost and faces great pressure in the market competition. In this thesis,DMAIC method is used to solve the problem of low FTY of panel products.Through the statistics and analysis of quality defect data by using the Pareto diagram to find out that the factor affecting FTY was mainly dimension deviation problem such as rib and thickness out of tolerance.Through analysis of measurement system,it was confirmed that the measurement system capability is good, but its poor process capability needs to be improved. To find out the causes of dimension deviation, through Cause-and-effect diagram and FMEA analysis,it was initially determined that main reasons included improper selection of protective glue, small engraving allowance, and inaccurate bath concentration parameters.Through single factor analysis of the engraved allowance,DOE test was designed to determine the optimal concentration the bath concentration parameters. At the control stage, the confirmed effective improvement measures were standardized and training was conducted in time to establish a continuous process control plan. After improvement, the FTY of panel milling products was improved from 62.1%to 94.4%,which has brought significant economic and social benefits to TH Company. The results of the project quality improvement can offer reference for more projects of TH Company and the same type of production units in Aerospace Corporation.
