In recent years,the mutual interference of pedestrians and motor vehicles has become a major problem affecting urban traffic,and the main way to alleviate this problem is the separation of time and space.Spatial separation is mainly based on the installation of pedestrian bridges and underground passages.Compared with the early investment of spatial separation,the time separation(that is,the installation of signal lights)can better save the cost of construction and take care of the disadvantaged groups.All along,the setting of pedestrian traffic lights on road sections is too one-sided,and only considers the flow of pedestrians and motor vehicles during peak hours,and does not consider the relationship between the opening of the traffic lights and the efficiency of traffic flow on road sections.However,reasonable signal light settings can effectively improve the operation efficiency of road traffic flow,and at the same time regulate the pedestrian crossing behavior.Therefore,this paper improves the traversable gap of the motor vehicle under the premise of considering the vehicle occupant policy,and based on this,the pedestrian signal lights of the road section are obtained The set pedestrian flow threshold provides a new method for the setting of crosswalk traffic lights.First of all,this paper conducts a data survey on the basic road sections of the city without signal control,analyzes its traffic characteristics,and fits the formula of the relationship between the motor vehicle traffic volume and the motor vehicle speed of the road section,which is the basis for the calculation of the delay of the motor vehicles in the following sections.Secondly,the pedestrian flow threshold set by the traffic signal of the road segment needs to consider the delay of the motor vehicle in the non-signal control section and the delay of the motor vehicle under the signal control section at different periods.In this paper,according to the Handling Capacity Manual(HCM2020),the delay of signal-controlled road vehicles(fixed delay)is solved,and the delay of signal-controlled road vehicles under different vehicle arrivals is obtained.On the premise of the vehicle man policy,the characteristics of the interval between pedestrian arrival and the arrival time of the motor vehicle are analyzed,the gap that can be traversed by the motor vehicle is improved,and based on this,the delay of the vehicle for the pedestrian on the road with no signal control is solved.Combined with VISSIM simulation software to simulate and verify the delay of signal-controlled motor vehicles and the delay of non-signal-controlled motor vehicles.Finally,calculate the maximum service traffic volume of a lane to determine the range of vehicle arrivals,and use the threshold curve to obtain the pedestrian flow threshold set by the corresponding road signal lights at different vehicle arrival rates,and then use Changan in Beilin District of Xi’an City As an example,the non-signal control section near North Road—South Gymnasium Road is checked with examples to verify the rationality of whether the section is equipped with pedestrian traffic lights.The research significance of this article is to put forward the concept of setting thresholds for pedestrian traffic lights in road sections,to provide new ideas for the setting of pedestrian traffic lights in road sections,to alleviate the degree of mutual interference between pedestrians and motor vehicles,and to improve the efficiency of motor vehicles in urban road sections.
