Tumor is one of the main diseases endangering human health.With higher requirements for treatment effects,treatment procedures,side effects,etc.,drugs with multiple curative effects and natural anti-tumor drugs are increasingly favored by patients and researchers.As a natural anti-tumor drug,curcumin has received extensive attention due to its various medical properties.However,current curcumin drugs still suffers from low and single therapeutic effects.As a renewable nanomaterial derived from natural cellulose,nanocellulose has many excellent properties.In this study,the curcumin delivery system and dual therapeutic drug particles obtained by using nanocellulose have broad application prospects,providing new ideas for the utilization of insoluble drugs and the development of multi-curative drugs.This research presents an important step toward the establishment of a green and natural nanocellulose-based delivery system that could be potential used in antitumor treatment.In this study,cotton fiber was used as raw material,and nanocellulose with a large number of carboxyl groups on the surface was prepared in one step through the ammonium persulfate method.After proper modification,it was used in the curcumin delivery system.A nanocellulose-based gel delivery system,and an anti-tumor drug with dual curative effects of chemotherapy and hyperthermia were obtained respectively.The specific conditions of the applied research are as follows:(1)The nanocellulose colloidal solution was concentrated into a gel,and a gel delivery system for curcumin was developed.This gel not only increases the concentration of curcumin in the aqueous system to more than 600 times the concentration of its saturated aqueous solution,but also has a certain slow-release effect.(2)Using nanocellulose as a carrier,and simultaneously loading nano-gold particles and curcumin,a drug particle with a relatively simple structure has been developed,which has dual effects of hyperthermia and chemotherapy at the same time.The load of the poorly soluble drug curcumin reached 31.4 μg per milligram of nanoparticles.The concentration of curcumin in the concentrate was increased by nearly 150 times.The high loading capacity and remarkable solubilization ability of the nanocellulose to curcumin have been demonstrated.For the first time,a dual-effect drug carrier with a simple structure has been prepared,which provides a new idea for the development of dual-effect or even multi-effect drugs.
