Montan wax is a coal-based chemical product with a wide range of uses,which is extracted from wax-rich young lignite and can be prepared into refined montan wax after resin removal and oxidation bleaching.On the market,montan wax series products mainly contain crude montan wax extracted directly from lignite by organic solvent,deresination montan wax prepared from crude montan wax after resin removal,and refined montan wax.Currently,a lot researches on the montan wax only focus on the extraction technology,but rarely pay attention to the character itself and the influence factors on it.Previous investigation showed crude montan wax contain a large amount of resin,followed by the deresination montan wax,and the refined montan wax had a trace residue.In this reserach,the influence of montan resin on the character and performance of deresination and refined montan wax was studied for the first time,in order to provide some basis for the process optimization of the montan wax products applied in different fields.Firstly,through the single factor test,the influence of various factors in the process of resin removal was investigated,including deresination agent,time,temperature,material and liquid ratio.The results showed that the influence of each factor on the residual amount of resin was different,and the residual resin content in deresination montan wax was different(4 % to 16 %).The deresination effect of ethyl acetate is relatively good,and the temperature is the most important factor affecting the deresination effect.By changing the condition of resin removal,five kinds of deresination montan wax samples with different residual resin contents were prepared,and the resin contents were about 4 %、7 %、10 %、13 % and 16 %,respectively.By the studies on the appearance and main properties,it was found that there was no significant difference in the appearance color among the deresination montan wax with different residual resin contents.With the increase of resin contents,the initial melting point and the final melting point of deresination montan wax decreased,but the melting process increased,while the friability,acid and saponification values increased slightly,but there was no statistic difference among the groups.Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis showed that there was obvious difference on the chemical contents of compositions among different groups with different residual resin content,indicating chemical compositions of resin have different response on the various factors in the process of deresination,resulting that the residual resin content and chemical components are different in deresination montan wax,and the their performance is also different.Deresination montan waxes with different residual resin contents were bleached by the same oxidation and decolorization process to produce refined montan waxes.By the studies on the appearance and properties of these refined waxes,it was found that the color appearance of the refined waxes prepared from deresination montan waxes with different residual resin contents was significantly different.With the increase of resin contents in the raw materials,the color of the refined waxes become yellower,the friability and saponification value increased,the initial melting point and the final melting point,the hardness and acid value decreased.The gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis showed that there were significant differences in the composition of the refined wax samples prepared by deresinnation montan wax with different resin contents.The above experiments show that the residual resin in the deresination wax has a significant effect on the performance of the refined wax,based on which,the preparation process can be optimized to produce the refined wax products with different performance according to the requirements of different application fields.
