In order to grasp the content and distribution of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and total arsenic in wild vegetables in Yanbian area, and to guide the processing and exporting enterprises of wild vegetables. In this paper, the heavy metals lead, cadmium, total arsenic and total mercury in 400 samples of fern, sweet potato stem,Dongfeng vegetable,Yuanzao bud leaf and Platycodon grandiflorum from 8 counties and cities in Yanbian were determined, and the results were analyzed statistically. The results showed that the contents of heavy metals in 5 kinds of wild vegetables in 8 counties and cities of Yanbian area were different, and the lead contents in 5 kinds of wild vegetables in the same region were different among different sampling points, different regions and the same region, among which the lead contents in ferns and Oriental vegetables were not above the standard. The content of cadmium is similar to that of lead, some of which are lower than the national limit and higher than the national limit. The average content of cadmium in the stems, buds and leaves of sweet potato, jujube and Platycodon grandiflorum is lower than the national limit. The contents of heavy metals, total arsenic and total mercury in 5 wild vegetables from 8 counties and cities in Yanbian area were lower than the national limit standards. It can be concluded from the results that there are significant differences in the contents of heavy metals between the same species of wild vegetable in the same producing area, and between different species of wild vegetable in the same producing area;there are significant differences in the contents of heavy metals between the same species of wild vegetable in different producing areas, and there is no significant difference in the average total contents of heavy metals between different producing areas. The contents of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and total arsenic in 5 wild vegetables from 8 counties and cities were positively correlated, but not with total mercury. The content of heavy metals in wild vegetables in Yanbian area is one of the important indicators for investigating the natural environmental pollution in Yanbian mountain area. For wild vegetable processing enterprises, raw materials can be selected in the areas where the heavy metal content of wild vegetable is relatively low,so as to reduce the export risk.
