Did the amount of time that elementary librarians spent teaching regularly scheduled library skills classes have an impact on the performance of other library services listed on the job description for librarians of the Kansas City, Missouri, School District? Elementary school librarians for the Kansas City, Missouri, School District have the same job description as secondary school librarians; in addition, they must teach regularly scheduled library skills classes. This study documented the amount of time used to teach skills classes and the amount of time remaining for other duties. It was found that very few of the librarians were satisfied with the quality of the library services; almost all of the librarians thought that improvements were needed; and, according to their remarks, morale was very low. It can be stated that more time needs to be available for the performance of non-teaching responsibilities of elementary school librarians.
