| With the rapid development of our country’s information industry,government departments have increased much investments on informatization construction in order to improve government’s service ability.Many IT enterprises scramble to join government information system development.The competition between enterprises is becoming more and more intense.In such situation,the competitiveness of enterprises is determined by the delivery speed and the quality of IT enterprises’ information system product.However,no matter in the industry or H company,the delay of software R&D projects is relatively common.The delay of the project not only has a negative impact on the customers,but also on the reputation of the company.Therefore,it is urgent for software companies to focus on schedule management.The project’s schedule management is becoming more and more important in the software products development,to make ensure the project delivery on time with high quality.This paper sorts out the related theories and methods of project schedule management by reading a large number of literatures.And then analyzing the advantages of the critical chain method in project schedule management by comparing the critical chain method with CPM and PERT.In addition,by analyzing IT project management of H company and the problems in the schedule management of historical projects,we found that there are some shortcomings by simply using the traditional project schedule management.The shortcomings such as not considering human behavior factors and resource constraints in building the project schedule,often lead to project’s delay.Luckily,the critical chain technology based on the constraint theory can solve the above problems effectively.This paper takes the self-service system development project of H company as the research object,try to improve the project schedule management by critical chain method.Firstly,the safety time of activities should be cut down,using the optimistic time in the 3-Point estimation method to build project schedule based on critical path method,using resource optimizing technology to solve resource conflicts.Secondly,the buffer time should be calculated by the elastic coefficient method based on PERT,and the buffer time is collected to the end of the chain as protection of the project.Finally,the PERT-based critical chain buffer warning mechanism is used to effectively monitor the project buffer to ensure project run smoothly.The critical chain method is applied to the schedule management of self-service system development project of H company,which effectively solves resource conflicts and eliminates the influence of human behavior factors in traditional project management.So,it is appropriate to apply the critical chain method to the schedule management of H company,and provide a reference for similar industries. |
