Individuals invest a lot of time and energy in their profession to meet their economic, social and psychological needs. The career success of employees is not only the realization of employees' self-worth,but also the performance of the full development of human resources, which ultimately contributes to the success of the company. For a long time, people think that IQ is the key factor in determining individual achievement, but some scholars have found that emotional intelligence plays a vital role in personal career success.Although there are some studies on the influence of emotional intelligence on career success at home and abroad, the research on introducing leader-member exchange as a mediator variable is still scarce. This paper takes corporate employees as the survey object, and aims to explore the influence of emotional intelligence on career success and the intermediary mechanism of leader-member exchange. This paper collected 260 valid questionnaires, and used SPSS and AMOS to analyze the reliability, validity, correlation analysis, regression analysis and mediation of the collected data. The following conclusions were drawn:1.Job level has a significant positive impact on career success.2.Emotional intelligence has a significant positive impact on career success.Use of emotion to facilitate performance and regulation of emotion in oneself have a significant positive impact on career success.Appraisal and expression of emotion in oneself and appraisal and recognition of emotion in others have no significant effect on career success.3.Emotional intelligence has a significant positive impact on leader-member exchange.Use of emotion to facilitate performance and regulation of emotion in oneself are more important, and have a significant positive impact on leader-member exchange.Appraisal and expression of emotion in oneself and appraisal and recognition of emotion in others have no significant effect.4.Leader-member exchange has a significant positive impact on career success.5.Leader-member exchange plays a partial intermediary role between emotional intelligence and career success, and plays a partial intermediary role between use of emotion to facilitate performance and career success. It plays a full intermediary role between regulation of emotion in oneself and career success. There is no mediation between appraisal and expression of emotion in oneself and career success,as well as between appraisal and recognition of emotion in others and professional success. The innovation of this paper is to introduce leader-member exchange into the relationship between emotional intelligence and career success.Empirical studies have found that emotional intelligence has a significant positive impact on career success and leader-member exchange, and demonstrates that leadership-member exchange plays a mediating role between emotional intelligence and career success.Based on the above conclusions, the corresponding suggestions are put forward from the perspective of organization and employees:Organizations use emotional intelligence as a standard for recruitment and selection;Organizations use incentives and training to enhance employees' emotional intelligence;Build high-quality leader-member exchange relationships;Organizations help employees design career planning;Employees improve emotional intelligence level independently;Employees develop their own social network. This study provides a new research perspective for the study of emotional intelligence and career success, and provides a reference for employees and business development.
