Array antennas are widely used in radar systems,electronic countermeasures,radio astronomy,wireless communication and other fields.Without affecting the performance,it will have significant advantages in saving cost and reducing mutual coupling between arrays.The antenna array synthesis technique discussed in this paper is to fit the desired pattern with a sparse array when the radiation pattern is known.We mainly studied the pattern synthesis of line array and planar array based on the forward and backward matrix pencil method(FBMPM)and matrix enhancement and matrix pencil method(MEMP).The main contents and innovations can be summarized as follows.In the second chapter,we first introduce the mathematical model of matrix pencil method(MPM)and MEMP,the construction form of Hankel sampling matrix and the solution process of generalized eigenvalue.Aiming at the poor effect of MPM on asymmetric beam forming,an improved forward and backward matrix pencil method is introduced,which can achieve high accuracy beamforming.Secondly,based on the extended matrix,we extend the forward and backward matrix pencil method(EFBMPM),which is used for wideband linear array pattern synthesis.Different frequency bands share the same location,so that the reconstructed array can have a good fitting effect in the whole frequency band.Then the extended backward matrix pencil method is applied to the wideband multibeam pattern synthesis,and different frequency bands share the same location to achieve beam scanning.The fourth chapter introduces the application of the MEMP to the synthesis of planar antenna arrays.Aiming at the time-consuming problem of large planar arrays,a parallel accelerated algorithm is proposed to accelerate the SVD solution process in MEMP.It augmented the Hankel matrix into several block matrices and decomposed SVD simultaneously.This method saves much computation time.In the last fourth sections,considering the influence of mutual coupling between array antennas,taking the optimization of array thinning as the goal,we propose MEMP and space mapping method to optimize array antenna.
