Research On The National Consolation General Association During The Anti-Japanese War (1938-1945)

At the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War,the anti-Japanese national salvation movements carried out by people from all walks of life in the country were in full swing,and the anti-Japanese national salvation groups have sprung up.In July 1938,Wuhan took the lead in launching the "July 7" donation campaign,which provided an opportunity for the formation of the "Wuhan Committee of Comforting Soldiers in the Anti-Japanese War ".Later,in order to coordinate the national comfort movement and meet the needs of military operations,the "Wuhan Committee of Comforting Soldiers in the Anti-Japanese War" was renamed the "National Committee of Comforting Soldiers in the Anti-Japanese War".After the National Council of Consolation moved to Chongqing,it constantly expanded and improved its internal organizational system,formulated and revised the relevant service statutes,and was transformed from the Ministry of Political Affairs of the Kuomintang Central Committee to the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Kuomintang Central Committee.The National Council of Consolation experienced an important shift from the initial stage to the development stage.As a result,the National Council of Consolation has gradually moved to the track of standardization and institutionalization.In order to enhance the communication and influence of wartime consolation work,the National Council of Consolation has used the methods of propaganda mobilization and organization to widely mobilize the people of all walks of life to enhance the effectiveness of the national comfort movement and to consolidate the anti-Japanese national united front.The National Council of Consolation organized and led the campaign for collecting goods,including the recruitment of medicine,gifts and footwear,and supported the shortage of material on the front line,which encouraged the morale of the war.It also organized letters and newspapers movement,comfort and preferential treatment of military families’ movement.It belonged to the movement,supplementing the spirit food of the front line,lifting the worries of the frontline soldiers,thus enhancing the combat effectiveness of the army.The wartime consolation movement made an outstanding historical contribution to the War of the Anti-Japanese War.However,due to the particularity of the political situation and the war environment at the time,there were still some inevitable problems.
