| ocumentary,as a medium of information dissemination,plays the role of recording and disseminating information.The main character of this work is Yang Jinhu,whose family are boat runners in the five generations.Now,he is the only boat runner in the family’s younger generation.The purpose of the work is to show Yang Jinhu’s identity,survival status and attitude to the family’s 100-year career as a boat runner.The thesis is based on their own work creation practice and combined with the relevant documentary theory.This paper is divided into six parts,including introduction,documentary creation process,character image-building,narrative strategy analysis,audio-visual language analysis,summary and reflection.The introduction mainly describes the research background,research content,research methods,research value and research status.The first chapter describes the creative process of the work,including three parts:pre-planning,middle-photographed and after montage.The preliminary planning work includes the research of the industry,the communication with the shooting object,the formulation of the shooting plan and the determination of the shooting style,etc.The mid-term shooting involves the life record of the Spring Festival voyage,the working state of loading and unloading,the detailed description of the relationship with the family,the interview records of the relevant characters,and the abandonment of the shooting content.The second chapter expounds the concrete means of shaping the characters in this work,and points out that it is mainly realized through the selection of the characters,the emotional expression of the characters and the setting off of the interviews of the characters.Thus Yang Jinhu as a Chinese crew universality,representativeness and particularity to be clearly presented.The third chapter is the analysis of the narrative strategy of this work,pointing out that the narrative theme of this work is to present the spiritual outlook of the current boat runners,to show the predicament of the boat runners’ professional adherence,and to present the boat runners as a part of the canal cultureThe narrative perspective of the works includes omniscience view and inside view in which omniscience perspective is an objective and comprehensive narrative expression,and internal perspective is from Yang Jinhu’s subjective perspective to narrative expression.The fourth chapter is the audio-visual language analysis of this work.In the aspect of shot language,the choice of this work is mainly in the close shot,followed by the close-up,and and supplemented by long shot.And this work adopts the shooting angle of flat view and pitch at the same time.It focuses on the long lens to achieve the integrity of the event expression,and uses personalized empty lens to render the theme;It uses abnormal shooting methods for real recording in emergencies.In the use of sound,the traditional explanation screen mode is adopted,and the simultaneous sound and background music cling to the theme of the work.The fifth chapter is the summary and reflection of this work,which sums up the gains and losses of practical shooting and the methods and means that can be used in the future creation of similar documentaries. |
