Enamel is a metal decoration technology that involves the fusion of glass and metal,which has a long and distinguished history.Through the high temperature melting of glass glaze to the surface of metal bottom tire,it creates a rich and colorful artistic expression.Its application has a high degree of flexibility and infinite possibility.Over the past two decades,enamel has been adopted by jewelry artists engaged in various media work.This trend has led to the vigorous development of the performance potential of this material in new forms and new applications.Experiments and explorations on the innovative working methods and performance effects of enamel will create a rich visual and material language database for the establishment of jewelry creator’s visual system and the expansion of work context,and further create works with unique artistic languages.This paper is divided into five parts,which the first chapter is about the origin,significance,current situation and methods of the research.The second chapter is about the basic concept,origin,development and process classification of enamel.In the third chapter,the experiment explores several dimensions that affect the enamel performance,including time,temperature,the physical properties of glaze(transparency,particle number,material thickness),the physical properties of the bottom tire(thickness,weight,shape),etc.At the same time,the application of electroforming technology and transfer printing technology in enamel is realized.The fourth chapter is about the inheritance and innovative thinking,visual presentation and performance of the enamel application methods in the case of the application and innovation of enamel technology in contemporary jewelry art.The fifth chapter is a summary of the whole paper,which reveals the infinite possibility and potential space of enamel application in jewelry art creation.It is believed that with the development of science and technology in the world,the application and performance effect of enamel technology will be more and more innovated and broadened by art creators.
