Research On The Countermeasures Of Classification And Management Of Municipal Solid Waste In Shanghai

With increasingly accelerated economic growth and urbanization,the issue of household garbage is getting more and more serious.Chairman Xi Jinping emphasized on the 14 th meeting of the Central Leading Group for Financial and Economic Affairs that promoting the waste sorting system is closely related to improvement of the living environment for over 1.3 billion people.Most big cities in China are now facing the predicament of being surrounded by waste.As household garbage output are severely unmatched with the processing facilities capacity in Shanghai,how to address this issue has become an unavoidable social problem.According to the domestic and foreign experiences,waste sorting is the key to fundamentally solve the waste problem;and meanwhile can bring great social,economic and ecological benefit.The waste can be sorted into multiple categories in accordance with its composition,properties and utilization value;then disposed,collected and transported separately to achieve waste reduction,recycling and harmless.The paper summarizes the development of garbage sorting program in shanghai,draws lessons from Japanese sorting methods,and analysis the importance and benefit of the sorting.Through the concrete analysis of shanghai garbage sorting targets 、 problems 、 methods and reasons since 2011,the paper propose the countermeasures and suggestions about the garbage classification.The thesis summarizes the development history of the household waste sorting management in Shanghai,analyzes the problems existed in management in the waste sorting pilot community and the reasons in detailed;summarizes the strategies of urban household waste sorted management since Meiji;analyzes the significance of urban household waste sorting management based on the status quo in Shanghai with Japan’s experience in urban household waste sorting management as reference;and proposes the direction of strengthening the urban household waste sorting management in Shanghai and countermeasures.
