The growth of scientific knowledge is the theoretical core of Popper's philosophy of science,and as the academic research result of his whole life,exerts a tremendous influence for the future.Based on criticizing and inheriting the two theoretical levels of traditional philosophy and science,this article clarifies the origin,main contents and methods of the establishment of the theory of the theory,and the theoretical assistance and explanation of the commonness and heterogeneity of Engels and Popper in the view of knowledge,formulate the growth of scientific knowledge of Popper's,which make know more of the positive elements and shortcomings of Popper theory in epistemology.Finally examine this idea from a new point of view in the light of history,evaluate its enlightening significance in the development of philosophy of science.This paper reviews Popper's theory of scientific knowledge growth mainly in four aspects.The first part traces the theoretical sources of knowledge growth from two theoretical levels,namely philosophy and science.Through an overview of Hume's question,the proposition and predicament of logical positivism,and the theoretical contribution of Engels' s knowledge view,it traces back to its philosophical origin;through the analysis of the influence of the related research results of the history of natural science,the Enlightenment of Darwin's theory of biological evolution,tracing back its scientific traceability.Popper's scientific knowledge growth theory has been clarified and referred to and corrected by traditional knowledge view,so as to reveal the core position in Popper's epistemology.The second part makes a comprehensive analysis of the content of Popper's theory of scientific knowledge growth.It mainly divides the theoretical content into four parts:Popper thinks that scientific knowledge begins with the problem,produces the hypothesis,admit that the scientific knowledge is mistaken and that it is meaningful to insist on metaphysics.The ultimate goal of the growth of scientific knowledge is to approach the truth.Finally,the model,method and inspection of the growth of scientificknowledge are put forward according to the content of the theory.Test means.Combined with the auxiliary and explanation of Engels' s theory of scientific knowledge,we can clarify the purpose of internal logic of scientific knowledge growth theory.The third part,combined with Engels' s spirit of scientific innovation and practical feelings,commented on the theory of scientific knowledge growth to achieve the purpose of re understanding this theory.Its progressiveness lies in the rational use of evolutionary epistemology,acknowledging the important role of the growth of scientific knowledge and the important role of errors in the process of understanding,and highlighting the spirit of doubt,criticism and innovation in theory.Its limitation lies in adhering to the analytical method of formal logic,and easily falling into a purely logical circle away from practice.The fourth part outlines the impact of Popper's theory of scientific knowledge growth on subsequent theory.Through the rational inheritance and criticism of Popper,we recognize the scientific knowledge from different angles and produce a lot of new features.The main points are Kuhn's "holistic" social historicism science view;Feyerabend's irrational scientific view of science and the scientific view of Laccato's elaborate falsification.In a word,the system of philosophy of science constructed by Popper has always concentrated on the positive factors of anti-induction and anti-dogmatism around the axis of science,with great distinctiveness and sharpness.At the same time,it also puts forward a strong challenge to positivism.To a certain extent,it draws on the theory of evolution reasonably.The new understanding mode has solved the Hume problem and has made a new attempt for the demarcation of science from different angles.Therefore,based on Engels' s view of knowledge,we re-examine Popper's theory of scientific knowledge growth and provide a direction for the study of science itself.
