With the rapid development of computing technology,3D reconstruction technology has become a research central issue in computer vision and computer graphics. This paper mainly solves the observation of wave surface and reconstructs the wave surface in three dimensions. It briefly introduces the basic principles of binocular stereo vision technology and 3D reconstruction. After reading and referring to the method of surface reconstruction,a method of stereoscopic refraction was proposed, which combines techniques of image processing and optics. It mainly includes four contents:image acquisition, feature extraction, stereo matching and 3D reconstruction.First, the image acquisition part is introduced. Before the binocular camera performs image capture, the camera needs to be calibrated, that is,the internal and external parameters of the camera are obtained, and the determination of the internal and external parameters of the camera has an important influence on the subsequent reconstruction results. After the calibration is completed, the image can be acquired while keeping the camera still. Then, the feature extraction is performed on the acquired images. The classic feature extraction algorithms are Harris,Sift, etc.,mainly introducing Harris and Sift.Because Sift has strong robustness to feature extraction of scale and rotation transform, the scale of wave image And the rotation transformation is mostly,so the Sift algorithm is finally selected.Since water is a transparent object and it is difficult to extract features,a calibration plate is placed under the surface of the liquid to add features. Then, the stereo matching of the feature points is performed, and the Sift algorithm is adopted;due to the transparency of the water, the three-dimensional points matched to the left and right may be points below the water surface,so the algorithm of stereoscopic refraction is introduced in the text. The algorithm is combined with the Sift algorithm so that the matching 3D points must be points on the water surface. Finally, through the three-dimensional refraction algorithm and the internal and external parameters of the camera, the three-dimensional coordinates of the water feature points and the corresponding normal vectors can be obtained, and then the three-dimensional model of the water surface is restored by the three-dimensional coordinates and the normal vector. The experimental results show that the method can quickly generate 3D reconstruction results that are closest to the water surface.
