Shao Piaoping was a famous journalist during Beiyang government time.He was not only one of the pioneers and founders of the early journalism theory in China, but also left a unique chapter in the history of journalism in China because of his noble moral sentiment and high sense of social responsibility.Based on Shao Piaoping's journalistic practice and achievements, this paper discusses the core content and the origin of her journalistic ethics.Shao Piaoping's life is short and warm, early in the young set the news to save the country.Because of speaking out against the might,he was persecuted by warlords for many times and was finally brutally killed by Zhang Zuolin and his father.Rich news experiences and unique life experiences are the inducement for Shao Piaoping to think deeply about news ethics, and also the foundation for him to construct his own ethical thoughts. In Shao Piaoping's ethical thoughts, the individual moral quality of journalists is an important factor, which directly relates to the effectiveness of news practice.News gathering and editing should respect the principle of truth and objectivity, while news media should uphold the position of independence. His opinion is that the privacy right, news sources and other still controversial news ethics propositions should be appropriately protected.Shao Piaoping's journalistic ethics originated from many aspects, including the moral connotation of Chinese traditional culture, the journalistic ethics of western bourgeoisie such as Britain and America, and the mutual influence of a group of contemporary intellectuals. On the whole,Shao Piaoping's journalistic ethics not only embodies the general disposition of applied ethics, but also makes a deep impression on his theory.
