Surface plasmons are a form of electromagnetic waves localized to the metal surface that propagate along the metal surface and exponentially decay in a direction perpendicular to the metal surface.As the photon density of surface plasmon is very high in the medium and metal interface,greatly enhance the interaction of light and matter,thereby enhancing the light detection ability.Therefore,the unique optical property of surface plasmons opens up a new path for the development of optical sensors.The study on the properties of micro-nano photonic devices has become a hot topic.In the paper,the surface plasmon MDM waveguide sensing structure is designed and the Fano resonance is introduced into the structure.The Fano resonant sensing structure of the MDM waveguide is constructed,and the structure is improved and extended step by step.The paper mainly includes the following aspects:Firstly,the basic properties and theoretical research methods of surface plasmon s are studied from the basic theoretical knowledge of surface plasmons.On this basis,the resonant cavity mechanism of the MDM waveguide and the Fano resonance principle are expounded.The Fano resonant structure of the rectangular cavity coupled ring cavity of the MDM waveguide is constructed and the effects of structure transmission and sensing as well as the influence of structure parameters on the Fano resonance are analyzed,which pave the way for the design of Fano resonant sensing structure of MDM waveguide.Secondly,a Fano resonance sensing structure of metallic double-baffle contained MDM waveguide coupled ring resonator is proposed.The Fano resonance was generated by the metallic double-baffle resonator coupled ring resonator under the action of near field.The transmission and sensing characteristics of the structure are analyzed,and the structural parameters are optimized.Finally,the sensing performance of the structure is analyzed.Finally,a novel Fano resonance sensing structure of silicon contained MDM waveguide coupled ring resonator is proposed.The symmetric doping of silicon dielectric on both sides of the waveguide leads to the formation of a broad continuum in the far near infrared band.The Fano resonance is formed by the continuous state coupling of the discrete states,which is generated by the ring cavity.Due to the wide continuous spectrum,the Fano resonant linear mode can be adjusted widely.The sensing sensitivity is greatly improved with a certain figure of merit and the double Fano resonant structure is designed.At the same time,the differential sensing of the double Fano resonances is studied,which shows great potential for double Fano resonance application.
