Research purpose: The paper mainly studies the promotion of physical health of vocational college students by the interesting track and field teaching for 16 weeks,and can provide the empirical experience for the application of interesting track and field teaching method in physical education teaching of higher vocational colleges.Research methods: This paper mainly uses the methods of literature,questionnaire,interview,mathematical statistics,case analysis,teaching experiment and other research methods.And it selects sophomores from four classes of Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology as the experimental objects,which are divided into experimental group and control group.In the experimental group,the interesting track and field teaching method was introduced,while the traditional teaching method was used in the control group.After a 16-week semester,the two groups of students' physical health level indexes were compared.Research Results:(1)After the interesting track and field teaching for 16 weeks,there was no significant difference in body shape index(height,weight)in the experimental group before and after the experiment.However,body function index(vital capacity)had an obvious improvement(P < 0.01),and body quality index had a significant performance(P < 0.01)in the 50-meter running,standing long jump,pull up,sitting forward and 1000-meter running.(2)After the experiment,compared with the control group,the results of standing long jump and pull-up were significantly improved(P < 0.05);the results of 50 m running were significantly improved(P < 0.01).(3)The physical health scores of the two groups were significantly improved compared with those before the experiment,in which the experimental group improved more.(4)In the experimental group,the rate of reaching the standard of physical health score increased from 79.5% to 97.3%.(5)The score of sport fun scale in the experimental group increased significantly,with the average score increasing from 42.89 to 53.97.Conclusion:(1)Interesting track and field teaching for 16 weeks can improve students' physical health level.(2)Sixteen weeks of interesting track and field teaching stimulate students' interest in track and field.(3)Interesting track and field teaching can improve students' confidence.
