Study On Knowledge Modeling And Visualization On Curriculum

The curriculum system is a guiding framework in educational activities and should be formal,detailed and reliable.However,in practice,it is not easy to show information of the trustworthy curriculum system explicitly to stakeholders.As a result,there are various problems,such as designing personalized learning plans aimed at 1 research field for students,sharing of different courses’ teaching content for teachers,and lacking shared vocabulary about domain knowledge and lacking of links and mapping among different courses for different stakeholders.But there is no good solution to these problems to our knowledge.Especially,there is no present ontology model for a whole curriculum system that contains the 3 stakeholders.Our research aimed to solve these problems and establish a conceptual framework to explicitly and fluently share each concern and understanding among multiple stakeholders.This research project analyzed the relation and problems of different stakeholders in curriculum system,and according this research project,the traditional curriculum maintenance system transform one-to-one interactive to many-to-many interactive of stakeholders.This research project presented a framework of an Ontology-aware Course Consulting(On2C)system that an intelligent and visual tool for intelligent curriculum management and describes an ontology model on curriculum system to conceptualize course information.This ontology model reflected the essential structure of the curriculum and facilitated sharing and reuses of course information,each concern,as well as the unambiguously understanding among multiple stakeholders.during curricular maintenance.In particular,this ontology model presented a way to find prerequisite course,successor course,and co-requisite course relations in the curriculum system,which helps guide students when choosing elective courses and creating learning plans,as well as aids teachers in constructing teaching plans.Thus,the On2 C system reflected the essential structure and relations of curricula,and provided common vocabulary to represent such a model with ontological technique.In this way,this research project can improve the students’ learning interest,improve teacher’s work efficiency and improve education quality.
