As an indispensable part of ancient Chinese tomb culture,the figurines existed before the warring States period and have a long history.The period of Han and Tang dynasties was the peak period of the art development of human figurines.In the Central Plains,the tombs of emperors and princes and the tombs of the poor people were buried with the figurines.Although Gansu and Xinjiang provinces is located in the northwest corner,it became an important channel for China to connect with western countries after Zhang Qian opened the Silk Road in the Western Han Dynasty.Therefore,it not only retains the local custom of burial,but also is influenced by the cultural customs of the Central Plains and Western regions.Through the arrangement,classification and image description of the figurines,we can fully understand the figurines in Gansu and Xinjiang provinces,so as to explore the social life of the people in Han and Tang dynasties.Firstly,the historical background of the tombs unearthed in Han and Tang dynasties in Gansu and Xinjiang regions is briefly described.Secondly,in the form of table,the figurines unearthed in Han and Tang tombs of the two places are sorted and listed,and the figurines are classified according to the material,and the specific modeling characteristics of the figurines are described in detail,and the figurines and bronze figurines are mainly distributed in Wuwei,Gaotai County,Jiuquan and Jiayuguan in Gansu Han and Jin dynasties.During the Tang Dynasty,the terracotta figures were mainly found in Qingcheng County,Qin’an County and Dunhuang County.Most of the terracotta figures were found in the ancient tombs of Astana,Turpan,Xinjiang province.Most of theurines and clay figurines in the majority.Finally,through the previous collation and classification of the study,understand the basic characteristics of the figures in the Han and Tang dynasties between Ganxin,and compare,in order to explore the integration of the Han and Tang peoples in Ganxin,deeply influenced by the cultural factors of the Central Plains and the South,as well as the rich and colorful social living conditions.
