Slasher Film

From the sacrifice of the living in the primitive society to the video of the evil killing,the desire of human beings to watch others being tortured has never stopped.With the development of film technology,under the influence of consumerism culture,the "slasher film" emerged to show bloody and violent content.As a unique category of horror films,slasher film have gradually formed a fixed narrative mode in the development of typology.By watching slasher film,the audience can get a special experience of watching movies in terror and anxiety,and satisfy people’s inner desire for torture,so as to release the pressure in real life.However,due to the "anti moral" nature of slasher film,there will inevitably be a paradox between aesthetic and moral values when discussing the artistic value of slasher film.This paper mainly uses the theories of film science,psychology,aesthetics and so on to analyze the development history,type mode and development process of slasher film,and through the narrative connotation of slasher film to analyze the audience’s psychology,in order to explore the unique artistic value of slasher film.The paper is divided into five parts: first,the background and significance of the topic,the status quo of the research,the overall thinking and research methods of the paper,and the summary of the research value;second,the development process of the slasher film as a sub type of the horror film type;third,the comparative analysis of the story connotation and narrative mode of the slasher film in different historical stages and different cultural backgrounds;fourth,Analyze the audience psychology of slasher film;At last,This paper discusses the artistic and moral value orientation of slasher film in the current consumer culture.
