Time information is one of the basic dimensions of human understanding of the world.Time perception plays an important role in human perception and motor activities.Time perception is the subjective perception of time, including duration perception and temporal order perception.Duration perception is an important part of time perception, which refers to the perception of the interval between two continuous stimuli or the duration of a stimulus. Many behavioral studies have found that a variety of factors can have a greater or lesser impact on time perception. In recent years,it has been found that musical experience is also one of the factors affecting time perception. Some studies show that music listening can affect our cognitive behavior, but there are few studies on the influence of music listening on the time perception of pure perception. Therefore, music listening and time perception of pure perception are worth further discussion. In addition, some researches also show that musicians with long-term music training perform much better in time discrimination of music information than those without long-term music training. What about musicians’ perception of time information unrelated to music? In this study, the students of Hunan Normal University are selected as the research objects, and the time dichotomy behavior experimentparadigm is used to explore the influence of music experience on time perception. In this study, musical experience is divided into music listening and music training. Therefore, this experiment will discuss the influence of listening music on time perception and the influence of music training on time perception respectively. In Experiment 1,the influence of music listening on time perception was studied by using the temporal bisection task of time duration judgment. The task of the subjects was to judge the length of the classic 7time intervals(400ms,600 ms,800ms,1000 ms,1200ms,1400 ms,1600ms)of the temporal bisection task based on the standard of short time intervals(400ms)and long time intervals(1600ms)formed in the learning stage. The behavioral results show that there is no difference between the various conditions at the Point of Subjective Equality;the smaller the Weber Ratio, the better the time sensitivity. The results show that the individual’s Weber ratio is the largest under the condition of medium tempo music. After analysis,it is found that there is a significant difference between the Weber Ratio under the condition of no music and that under the condition of medium tempo music, which reflects the lowest time sensitivity of individuals under the condition of medium tempo music.Experiment 2 used the same paradigm to explore the influence of music training on time perception. The results of behavioral experiments show that there is no difference between musicians and non-musicians at Point of Subjective Equality. In the Weber ratio under the auditory channel, the value of the music group is less than that of the non-music group. The analysis revealed differences between the two groups. This suggests that musicians have a higher temporal sensitivity to hearing thannon-musicians.The overall results suggest that musical experience affects our pure perception of time...
