| Generally speaking,the birth of a disease treatment program often requires relevant clinical trial,and this process requires the participation of people,especially the patients.The translation material of this practice report is an Informed Consent Form for HPV-303,which was undertaken by the present author during her internship in a translation company.Its target reader is foreigners in China with cervical precancerous lesions.This translation material belongs to information text,but it has two functions,namely informative function and expressive function.A large number of professional words of gynecology and the unique syntactic features of informed consent bring the author great challenges to the translation work.In this translation practice report,the author,guided by Newmark’s text typology theory,discusses the translation method of informed consent form at lexical,syntactical and textual level to convey textual information to the subjects as accurately as possible.At the lexical level,the author mainly studies the translation methods of medical terms and the words about clinical trial.At the syntactic level,the author discusses the translation methods of sentences without subject and complex sentences.At the textual level,the author mainly conducts a specific translation study from the perspective of term consistency.This translation practice proves that the text typology theory can help the present author flexibly and accurately convey the text information,and finally achieve the ideal translation effect.After the analysis of the translation,the author summarizes some feasible translation methods.And through this translation practice,the author has improved her translation skills and laid a good foundation for the future translation work. |
