Application On Teaching Chinese Culture By Film And Television Method In Confucius Institute Of Federal University Of Ceara,Brazil

In recent years,with communication between Brazil and China in economic and cultural,more and more Brazilian start to learn Chinese and have become enthusiastic about Chinese culture.Film and TV teaching method is different from traditional teaching met hod because of its vivid and real characteristics,and is welcomed by many Chinese teachers.However,there are few studies on teaching Chinese to Brazilian Chinese learners,and fewer studies on teaching Chinese culture with film and TV teaching methods.Therefore,it is necessary to study how to teach Brazilian students by using this teaching method.This paper mainly studies how to teach Chinese culture to the students in Confucius Institute of Federal University of Ceara(hereinafter referred to as UFCCI)by using film and TV teaching method.Based on the survey of students of UFCCI and volunteer teachers in Brazil,it is concluded that students have a positive attitude towards study Chinese cultural by film and TV teaching methods.But there are still some problems exist.According to the characteristics of students,this paper proposes that using film and TV teaching methods to teach Chinese culture should follow those following principles: considering students’ age and language proficiency,coexistence both contemporaneity and practicability,respect students’ interests and cultural differences,and pay equal attention to both explanation and projection.Through teaching practice and testing,it is concluded that film an d television teaching method have the advantages of active atmosphere,improving students’ participation,deepening students’ memory and attracting students to study actively after class.However,there are still some shortcomings,such as teachers need a lot of preparation before class,the high requirement for teachers’ teaching and editing ability,and the limitation of film and television works themselves.In view of the above problems,this paper proposes that before class,teachers should select appropriate film and television works,preprocess video material,summarize language points,explicit and hidden cultural knowledge points of video,and preset students’ problems;during teaching,students’ performance should be observed,teachers should adjust teaching methods in time,video should be broadcasted by plan,and knowledge point should be summarized;after class,teachers should leaving homework,giving test,and organizing cultural activities appropriately.Through the above research,we hope to provide a reference for the future teaching of Chinese culture by film and TV teaching method in UFCCI.
