In the process of global economic integration,English,as the most widely used language,is becoming more and more common in the trade among countries.Therefore,the educational circle attaches more and more importance to English subjects.Urban children are sent to bilingual kindergartens at an early age for English Enlightenment.However,in the vast rural areas,English education is not popular,many rural students began to contact English formally after entering junior middle school,so there are many problems in English teaching.The existence of various reasons made the students with difficulties a more common problem in rural,which will seriously affect the development of rural education and personal growth of rural students.In order to better understand the English low achievers’ learning motivation,the author did a survey in DaCheng Middle School in Gaoan city.According to the investigation,it is found that many students know clearly how important English is,and really want to learn it well,but they don’t have correct learning methods and strategies,which made it very difficult to learn it well.In this paper,the author managed to find out the factors that influence the learning motivation of English Low Achievers.Through the data analysis of the questionnaires,it is found that students’ learning needs,strength of self-efficacy,correct attribute of learning success or failure,clear goal orientation as well as teachers’ mediation play key roles in low achievers’ learning motivation.After that,based on the questionnaire,the author conducted a teaching experiment to verify that through increasing learning motivation has a great positive effect on English learning.Finally,,according to the research results,the author puts forward some practical methods to improve the English Low Achievers’ motivation.It is hoped that the author’s research can better help English teachers to improve English low achievers’ learning levels,and enable them to get better English education.
