Research On Lindan Hutcheon’s Postmodern Irony Theory

In 1960 s,Postmodernism has become the dominant school in contemporary Western academic circles.Many literary theorists,estheticians,and philosophers have emerged.Linda Hutcheon is one of them.This paper mainly studies Linda Hutcheon’s postmodern“irony” theory.As one of the authors of post-modern“irony” theory research,hutcheon made people have a deeper understanding of "irony" through the concrete analysis of the concept of “irony”.In the postmodern theoretical system of hutcheon,“irony” as one of the literary and artistic strategies always runs through the interpretation of the characteristics of postmodern multicultural phenomena.Her research on the concept of “irony” is based on the theory of predecessors.The connotation development of the concept of "irony" began in ancient Greece.She gained inspiration and inspiration from her,and from her unique theoretical perspective,she considered irony.The process of occurrence must first have the construction of a discourse community,with a common context or mark,in order to make irony happen.The process of irony is complicated.When people understand irony,there are two meanings of ‘not saying’and ‘speaking’.Hutcheon explored and studied these issues,not only combined a large number of irony examples to deduce the occurrence of irony,but also hoped to extend an “irony” theory,which has a profound impact on post-modern cultural phenomena.This article is divided into three parts.The first part introduces the reasons and significance of the topic selection,the research status at home and abroad and the research ideas of the thesis.The second part has three chapters.The first chapter mainly discusses the theoretical traceability of“irony”.From ancient Greece to romanticism to postmodernism,the connotation of irony has undergone profound changes,especially Derrida’s “extension”and “distribution” ideas.Hutcheon thinks the essence of irony has greatly inspired.The second chapter discusses the connotation of irony,mainly from thediscourse community,the intention of discourse,the context of discourse,and discusses the connotation of Harbin’s irony.How irony is an artistic practice strategy,how and why.In the third chapter,hutcheon uses the double-speaking effect of irony to judge whether irony is appropriate,is it a dumb fire or a success? At the same time,hutcheon also analyzes with his own personal experience,the use of irony needs to be cautious and careful.The third part is the conclusion.It mainly expounds the aesthetic significance of hutcheon’s “irony” theory in contemporary times.
