With the continuous improvement of the comprehensive strength of China,"Chinese craze" is getting more and more popular in every country of the world.According to the specific conditions of overseas teaching Chinese as a foreign language,different teaching methods emerge one after another.Compared with the traditional teaching method,the TPRS teaching method,which focuses on students’ learning demands,creates the real context,and takes "story and reading " as the basic model,has been accepted by more and more frontline educators with its unique advantages.In particular,great progress has been made in vocabulary teaching.But at the same time TPRS teaching method directly applied to overseas Chinese vocabulary teaching research is still very few.Through in-depth analysis of TPRS teaching method and theoretical basis,understand its teaching principle as well as the significance of vocabulary teaching process,applies the TPRS teaching method to the elementary Chinese comprehensive course in Confucius Institute of Burundi University,through the form of questionnaire survey,investigates and analyzes the Chinese teaching methods and teaching effects before and after the application of the TPRS teaching method in Confucius Institute of Burundi University.Proved the TPRS teaching method shows the applicability in Confucius institute of university of Burundi.At last,chose two specific cases of vocabulary teaching based on TPRS teaching method are selected for in-depth analysis.Describe how to use TPRS teaching method in Chinese class to help students better acquire target vocabulary through reading.Burundi after the Confucius institute at the university of TPRS approach in vocabulary teaching of specific teaching process of teaching reflection,and TPRS approach in vocabulary teaching practice put forward such as should attach great importance to the perception of promote students by comprehensible input、 selection of input material to easy appropriate 、Create a scene with the target vocabulary should be closely integrated.
