Unorthodox And Anxiety:The Summarization And Intro-Spection Based On The Production Of MOVE

The physical theatre MOVE was a combination of different images that are portrayed by the bodies of performers.The word ’move’ means motion,action,change,emotionally touched,process,swing,proposal and the running of machine and so on in Chinese.These words constitute the exploration of the origin,process and the polysemy as well as variety of body language by a series of gestures and movement.These motions could be empirical or transcendental.Body is the start,carrier and ultimate purpose of life in the universe.The objection of ’Move’ is to show different relationships between different people by body language.The theme includes nature,culture and society.Meanwhile,body and other materials make up the core connotation of physique in this production.Traditionally,costume and theatrical property are the main ways to extend the function of body and distinguish different characters.Nevertheless,object and device are becoming more equal or even overwhelming compares to body and character.MOVE also expressed the thinking and confusion towards this phenomenon.In conclusion,MOVE was displayed by three extremely different time periods on the macro level.On the micro level,it showed the relationship of bodies and spread an intense atmosphere emotionally.In the end,it tried to depict the process of evolution of body language along with human society,touch the audiences and waked their long-forgotten awareness of their own bodies.Modernism art started to oppose tradition and aesthetics long time ago.The transnational and transboundary temptation of art are countless.Therefore,the interaction between modern dance and physical theatre is becoming more and more frequent and draws more and more attention.My graduate production MOVE.along with its writing,directing and producing,based on anti-tradition art and showed different body languages and their relationship with body through all kinds of motions,in order to make people realize and pay close attention to their own bodies.However,this unorthodox production is not entirely profound and complete.During the creation,there are confusion and anxiety on theme and meaning.This article will introduce the process of creation through many different levels such as background of creation,performance and directing.What’s more,it will analyze the level of realization of creation purpose and reappear the perceiving process of anxiety and compromise.Eventually,it will summarize and share the experience of this creation process.
