Reification Theory Research In The Post-Lukacs Era

The reification theory is one of the important theories in Lukacs’ early thoughts.He expanded the criticism of reification from the economic field to the political,ideological and even the whole capitalist society.My thesis begins with Hegel’s logical influence on the development of Lukacs’ thought in the early stage and briefly expounds the essential meaning of Lukacs’ reification theory.Then,trying to analyze the development of reification theory in the post-Lukacs era from the perspective of logic.Adorno found Lukacs’ reification theory wrapped in the dialectics of Hegel’s absolute concept,the strong logic of identity of capital and he turned to the criticism of cultural industry.Marcuse used technical rationality to criticize capitalist society comprehensively,which further deepened the theme of criticism theory.Habermas transformed the paradigm of reification theory to overcome the colonization of "life world" by "system",a new reification phenomenon in late capitalist society.When the development of capitalism shifted from the original materialized commodity production mode to the consumerism led by the production of human desires,the problem domain of Western Marxism on reification theory also changed accordingly.Marx understood human labor as the development process of his own life activities in the sense of generation.After the liberation of labor,people worked and produced freely and consciously in the practice of historical survival,so as to realize their own value.In this dissertation,with the analysis of the theory of reification in the postLukacs era,we try to focus on the reflection on the theory of reification brought to our time.It is hoped that based on the real world of life,we would find ourselves in the real world that has been divided and morbid,discover the true life,and let the world as the whole meaning of meaning,release the fear and annoyance in our hearts,and thus better life.
