Research On The Urban Ethics Of Laoshijie By WANG Fangchen

With the background of Jinan’s urban modernization process since 1990 s,Faithful Street writes the ups and downs of a century-old street named "Faithful Street".It tells the perplexity,confusion,choice and destiny of the residents who have lived in this old street for generations in the period of social transformation.Honest Street is a century-old Street endowed by the author with a long history and culture,carrying the genes of traditional Chinese morality and embodying the ethics of the market.It is a social structure with traditional ethics and morality as its unified values.This ethics and morality,which takes "honesty" as its pronoun,plays a cultural link role in maintaining the spiritual community of honest street.It rectifies and constructs the interpersonal order and ethical characteristics in the concentrated urban space of honest street.This paper uses the method of Literary Ethics Criticism to study The Truth Street from the perspective of urban ethics.The first chapter explores the ethical construction under the influence of patriarchal ethics and political ethics in honest street,as well as the crisis and reconstruction of urban ethics in the period of social transformation in which market economy sweeps the whole city and urban modernization accelerates development.Under the rule of market,the honest street as material existence will disappear forever,while the honest street as spiritual space will become an important trace of the development and change of urban ethical system and obtain eternal life.The second chapter focuses on the connotation and duality of "honesty" and "dishonesty" in "honest street" from the change of citizen’s ethical consciousness.As a complex symbolic metaphor,"honesty" itself contains many factors of "dishonesty".The existence of this paradox stems from the weakening and dissolving of traditional ethical values and the deepening of citizen consciousness in the market economy environment.Citizens begin to appeal for independent value pursuit and the construction of private space.The third chapter focuses on the symbolic implications of the two female images Xiaokui and Goose in the works from the micro-justice principle of the city.If Xiaokui rebelled against the power and dark forces,then the goose rebelled against the grassroots and daily life of the honest street;if Xiaokui was the incarnation of justice,then the goose was the aggregation of beauty.By telling the story of Xiaokui and Goose,the author eulogizes the ice-clean and resolute disposition existing in the honest street,which is an important source of the construction of urban micro-justice in the honest street.The fourth chapter explains the aesthetic construction under the demands of urban ethics.The author intends to dig out the internal ethical mechanism of Jinan and even Chinese cities,write the spiritual temperament of Chinese cities in the new era,and immerse in the deep modern pain of life under the strong impact of urban modernization,but does not use grand narrative,but uses the writing techniques of alternating reality with reality,restraining narrative and literati lyric,through the decline of an old street and living here.The fate of ordinary residents in the old streets reflects the collapse,crisis and opportunity of urban ethics reconstruction.
