Writing plays an important part in junior middle school English teaching.It is also one of the key points in junior middle school English learning.According to The Instructions and Test(2018 Edition)for junior middle school in Henan Province,writing should fully test students’ comprehensive language application ability.Based on years of paper marking experiences,the researcher discovers that writing section has already become the item where students easily fail to get high marks,which affects their English scores to a certain degree.Mind mapping is a teaching method widely used in English teaching in recent years.English teaching based on mind mapping can not only provide students with writing materials and writing structures,but also provide some help in writing logical relationship.Therefore,the research hopes to set an effective writing teaching mode based on mind mapping to guide students’ writing and adopt the method of case analysis to continue and deepen previous researches on English writing teaching.The research aims to address the following two questions:(1)What are the influences of the English writing teaching based on mind mapping on students’ writing attitudes.(2)What are the changes that the English writing teaching based on mind mapping bring to students’ writing score and writing ability? The researcher selected 120 students from two parallel classes in grade eight of Jianghe Middle School in Pingdingshan as subjects and conducted an 18-week teaching experiment.During the experiment,the researcher adopted the methods of questionnaire,interview and writing test.After a semester of teaching experiment,the researcher drew the following conclusion.(1)The English writing teaching based on mind mapping have changed students’ writing attitudes greatly.Specifically,students have improved their interest in English writing and overcame their resistance to English writing.Students no longer thought writing difficult and they could take an active part in the writing class and expressed their ideas freely and bravely.In this way,students can reduce their writing burden,enhance their confidence in English writing,and change their negative attitude towards English writing.(2)The English writing teaching based on mind mapping has effectively improved students’ writing score and writing ability.Specifically,with the help of mind mapping,students could expand their writing vocabulary,broaden their writing ideas,enrich their writing content,sort out their writing framework and structure,improve their comprehensive language application ability,and thus improve their writing score and writing ability.Finally,in view of the research conclusion,the researcher analyzed the deficiencies of the experiment and provided some suggestions for the future English writing teaching researches.
