Geogrid is a reinforced geosynthetic material with excellent performance. It has the advantages of high strength, low strain, light weight, acid and alkali resistance, aging resistance, etc. So that it is widely used in various fields such as railway, highway, water conservancy and construction. The geogrid has excellent reinforcement properties, and it is of great practical significance to study the tensile properties and measurement methods of the material itself. And the current different specifications for the test requirements of tensile plastic geogrids are not uniform, which is not conducive to the analysis and evaluation of the test results. The mechanical performance indicators measured through tests are the main quality indicators of the product and the main parameters of engineering application design, and at the same time have guiding significance for the production of grilles. As far as the research status of geogrids in China is concerned, basing on different tensile methods and media, this paper conducts different comparative experimental studies on tensile plastic geogrids,in order to make a reasonable evaluation of the geogrid tensile methods and the mechanical properties when stretched in different media.Firstly, this article describes the tensile mechanism of the stretched plastic geogrid from the micro and macro perspectives. It also analyzes the failure mode, plastic deformation, structural model and mechanical strength of the geogrid. This article focuses on the comparison of tensile properties of unidirectional plastic geogrids under different tensile test methods and the comparison of tensile properties of different media conditions to summarize the mechanical performance index of unidirectional plastic geogrids under the different test methods and environments characteristics.Based on a comparative study of the tensile properties of bidirectional plastic geogrids under different tensile test methods, and unidirectional tensile tests and biaxial tensile tests under different media conditions, this paper summarizes the different tensile test methods of bidirectional plastic geogrids. And mechanical behavior characteristics under different force forms. Finally,a comparative analysis of the results of the above-mentioned tensile tests yields the following results: Under the same stretching rate, the peak strain is affected by different stretching methods and decreases with the increase of the stretching rate;Different tensile methods have little effect on tensile strength and tensile modulus corresponding to 2% and 5% strains, while the tensile modulus corresponding to peak strain is higher for the multi-rib method than for the single-rib method at low rates. However, with the increase of the stretching rate, the effect of different stretching methods on the tensile modulus gradually decreases. In the comparative tensile test in different media, the peak strain of tensile in air is greater than the tensile result of the filling medium, and the tensile modulus and tensile strength are smaller than those in the filling medium. The tensile strength measured in the biaxial stretching mode is greater than the uniaxial stretching; The tensile modulus measured in biaxial stretching is greater than that in unidirectional stretching; The peak strain of the grid is less affected by the tensile rate condition in the bidirectional force mode, and the peak strain is greatly affected by the tensile rate condition in the unidirectional force mode.
