| With the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,a new historical orientation of China’s development has been made,and research on the development of urban vitality has become one of the hot research areas in government and academia.A scientific and comprehensive study of urban vitality will help us understand the influencing factors of urban vitality,and thus have very important theoretical significance and practical value for urban development.In October 2018,during the inspection of Guangdong Province,General Secretary Xi Jinping had explicitly requested that Guangzhou achieve "new vitality of the old city".Guangzhou Province should improve the overall strength of the city and make achievements in internationalization.General Secretary Xi fully understands the development laws of China’s cities and can fully recognize the new trends of China’s urban development,so he has proposed this major strategic issue for first-tier cities such as Guangzhou.In order to explore the influencing factors and the inherent laws of the mechanism of the city’s vitality in the new era,based on Guangzhou,Shenzhen,Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai,and Jiangsu,this paper comprehensively evaluates and measures the urban vitality in the new age;Panel Data Model(SPDM)measures its influencing factors,At the same time,the Moran index,Lagrangian multiplier(LM)test,and robust LM multiplier(robust LM)were used to test the spatial correlation of Guangzhou’s new era urban vitality,and the LM test was applied to the spatial lag panel model(SLM).The two basic models were selected from the spatial error panel model(SEM),and the Hausman test was used to test whether the model contained individual fixed effects.Finally,a spatial error model containing individual fixed effects is selected to explore the spatial evolution of the urban vitality growth mechanism.The main conclusions of the study are as follows: lack of innovation vitality.There is not enough R&D and innovation talent.The industrial structure of Guangzhou is not ideal,and the added value of the digital economy accounts for a small proportion of the added value of the tertiary industry.The production efficiency and product quality of Guangzhou industrial enterprises are not high enough.Guangzhou’s per capita living area is not high.Per capita GDP,R&D funding intensity,R&D activities per 10,000 employees,the growth rate of invention patent applications per 10,000 population,and the growth rate of per capita disposable income of urban residents have a significant impact on urban vitality.In the new era,urban vitality has obvious spatial heterogeneity and significant spatial dependence.From the perspective of model selection,the individual fixed effect spatial error model can more scientifically reflect the current status of urban vitality in the new era. |
