In the past two years,there has been a boom in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)to investigate wild cetaceans.More and more institutions in China have begun to use UAVs to investigate and observe Sousa chinensis and Bryde's whale(Balaenoptera brydei).In this study,a small UAV,video and cameras were used to observe Sousa chinensis at the same time,and promiscuous mating behavior,forced mating behavior,head tossing behavior,parentalcare behavior,various forage behaviors,and play behavior were recorded.Meanwhile,this paper described the advantages and disadvantages of the application of small UAV in the investigation process.In this study,the behavioral action fragments of Sousa chinensis were extracted from 15 quarterly image data from 2014 to 2018.Excel was used to calculate the behavioral action proportion and the behavioral diversity index of Sousa chinensis in each quarter.Combining with the existing fishery resources data,SPSSAU was used to analyze the behavioral proportion and behavioral diversity index of Sousa chinensis in Jiangmen waters.The results showed that the behavioral diversity of Sousa chinensis had a normal distribution in each quarter,and the proportion of deep diving behavior decreased year by year.At the same time,the behavioral diversity of Sousa chinensis varied greatly in different areas of the Jiangmen coastal area.During 2014-2016,the behavioral diversity index of Sousa chinensis in Jiangmen decreased,and the trend was similar with that of fishery resources,but from the first quarter of 2017,the behavioral diversity index of Sousa chinensis in Jiangmen Behavior diversity index rebounded,and stabilized in 2018,but it was still lower than that in 2014.According to the analysis,there was little correlation between the number of individuals and the change of behavioral diversity index.The reason for the rise of behavioral diversity index was probably that fishery administration strengthened maritime law enforcement(cracking down on illegal trawlers,dismantling set nets in protecting areas,etc.)and reduced the impact of human activities on dolphins.Based on the information obtained above,combined with the research results of the other cetacean behaviors,some suggestions for the protection of Sousa chinensis in Jiangmen coastal area were proposed.
