Rresearch On Tourist Well-being In Religious Pilgrimage Site

Related as a happy activity,tourism has become an important indicator of the improvement of living standards.For tourism is not just about space displacement,shopping consumption or compensation for daily life,tourists enjoy the pleasure of tourism activities and pursue deeper meaning of life al well as a sense of achievement.And nowadays,religious tourism is a kind of tourism mode that every tourist can experience.Religious pilgrimage sites not only have an unique natural and cultural landscape,but also boast a mysterious religious atmosphere,making tourists fascinated.However,few scholars have studied the tourists in religious pilgrimage site in depth and explored the degree and mechanism of the tourist well-being.From the perspective of well-being,this paper uses the mixed research path of quantitative research and qualitative research to measure and analyze the tourist well-being in religious pilgrimage site to fill the vacancies in this field.Based on the related studies of tourist well-being and religious experience at home and abroad,taking Larong Wuming Buddhist College as study area,which is located in Seda County,Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,this paper builds a content framework of tourist well-being in religious pilgrimage site.The data is collected by questionnaire survey,participant observation,online travel notes and field diary.Then statistical analysis is used to measure the level of tourist well-being,and phenomenological analysis is used to find the occurrence and effect of tourist well-being.The study results are as follows:(1)According to demographic characteristics,tourists coming to the religious pilgrimage site are mainly young people with energy.More than half of tourists are not Buddhists.They seek religious atmosphere and long to experience "sacred journey" like pilgrimage,gazing at splendid symbolic landscape and religious rituals.Based on motives,tourists in pilgrimage site could be divided into three types: seeker of religious belief,religious spiritual experiencer and religious tourism relaxer.(2)The tourist happiness in religious pilgrimage site is at the middle and upper level.Itcan be seen that most of the tourist happiness comes from the positive affect and tourist meaning.The expected positive affect,good feedback of experience,personal development,understanding life meaning and obtaining spiritual gain are the main sources of tourist happiness.However,the perception of flow experience is low.Moreover,the tourist well-being is influenced by many factors and have individual difference.(3)The change mechanism of tourist well-being in religious pilgrimage site shows the emergence,development and function of tourist well-being in three stages of journey.Before the departure,the tourists have been familiar with information about religious pilgrimage site through the network and other ways of sharing.With the constraints of daily life as a thrust factor,and sacred religious factors and spectacular cultural landscape as a pull factor,together they make tourists come to religious pilgrimage site.During the process of travel,the flow experience is mainly derived from its spiritual experience,secular experience and environmental experience.These experiences give tourists a better understanding of the culture of religion,bring the tourists spiritual shock,inspire a sense of awe,and deepened the spiritual experience of this religious tour.After the tour,the tourists reconstruct and deepened tourist well-being through recollecting,combing and rethinking this religious experience.Meanwhile,tourists also redefine their self and life,and enhance the overall sense of consciousness.
