This paper has brought the internal entrepreneurial theory,the demographic characteristics together,introduced the demographic characteristics of the middle managers within the field of entrepreneurship to study their relationship changes.On the one hand,this paper enriches the research on the internal entrepreneurial behaviors of the middle managers,and discusses the middle managers who are suitable for the implementation and practice of the internal entrepreneurial strategies from the perspective of demographic characteristics.On the other hand,this article extends the applicable scope of the theory of demographic characteristics from the executive team to the middle manager,extends from the management situation of the developed countries in Europe and the United States to the management practices of the developing countries in China.The results show that: firstly,the level of education,entrepreneurial experience and functional background of middle managers have a significant positive impact on their internal entrepreneurial behavior.This provides empirical support for the theoretical view that the characteristics of the middle managers in the Chinese context have positive effects on the internal entrepreneurial behavior,which is beneficial to apply the conclusion to the Chinese enterprises.Secondly,this paper finds that there is no significant positive relationship between the age of middle managers and internal entrepreneurial behaviors of middle managers.After further study,we found that age and tissue output may be a complex curve,not just a simple linear relationship.Thirdly,the study found that the internal entrepreneurial environment on the relationship between the age of middle managers-entrepreneurial relationship between the regulatory role is significant,indicating that regardless of any age of middle managers,to create a good internal entrepreneurial environment are conducive to its internal entrepreneurial behavior,And then implement the company’s internal business strategy.Fourthly,the study also found that internal entrepreneurial environment can not regulate the relationship between middle managers’ characteristics and entrepreneurial behaviors.This discovery has special significance to the practice of management,and reveals that internal entrepreneurship has certain limitations.However,this article also has some shortcomings.Firstly,for the sake of time and cost,the data used in this study belong to cross-section data rather than time-series data or panel data.Secondly,since the data are mainly relied on self-report questionnaires,the results may be affected by respondents’ own preferences.Thirdly,the middle-level managers may not be rich enough to reflect the possible characteristics of the entrepreneurial behavior.
