| Although marginal theory is an economic concept,it contains profound ethical origins and cultural background.Ancient Greek ethics,Christian ethics, and old classical utilitarianism all contain certain elements of marginal theory in historical western ethics. From an ethics viewpoint, marginal utility theory is a kind of subjective well-being and abstract concept of equality.Diminishing marginal utility implies that efficiency comes first, against the ethical implication of the pursuit of efficiency, and balancing equity, and marginal balance means exchange justice and moderate consumption ethics.Meanwhile, because of ignoring the non-utility elements of justice, freedom, rights and so on,marginal theory separates the organic unity between internal happiness and external happiness, leads to the inconformity of personal welfare and social welfare, and the calculation of joys and sorrows has no operability. In view of marginal theory,it has an ethic limitation that is difficult to overcome—it has to use real freedom to amendment marginal utility, use multidimensional equality to overcome diminishing marginal utility, use equity and justice to surpass marginal balance, and finally realize the organic combination of marginal utility and ethic. |
