The Documentary "End Festival": The Presentation Of The Traditional Ritual Behavior Of The Aquarium

The Shui Nationality, as an important ethnic minority in southwest China,has its own unique national culture. The most important traditional festival is the Dragon Boat Festival, and the rituals during the festival not only reflect their customs and habits, but also contain historical information about their national origin and change. The important value of the anthropological documentary is to keep the film as a clue to the Shui Nationality’s traditional culture,with a documentary as a means of expression,trying to record the ritual activities of a Shui village during the Dragon Boat Festival.The basic idea of this graduation project is to use documentary techniques to faithfully and objectively show the traditional culture of the Shui Nationality.The use of narrative multi-line structure combines different contents together with Dragon Boat Festival as a clue.In the creative process, the author deeply feels that the documentary is a kind of image which "records the current events to become tomorrow’s history",but also an artistic means for photographers to express their views. The author attempts to arouse people’s attention to cultural heritage in Shui Nationality and other ethnic minorities through his artistic creation, so as to make a modest effort to retain the cultural diversity of the Chinese nations.This paper is mainly composed of four parts: the introduction mainly interprets of reasons for the selection of the works, the relevant research results and the innovation of this paper. The second part analyzes the creative ideas of the anthropological documentary relating to this project. The third part analyzes the anthropological documentary and the artistic style of the graduation project itself. The fourth part analyzes its characteristics of narrative structure and audio-visual language. The final shares the creative process from the early planning, equipment preparation to the shooting location, character, as well as the editing work, and sums up the experience in this project.
