Japanese Translation Of "Life And Death Fatigue" Under Functional Equivalence Theory

Translation is not only the process of transforming different languages,but also one of the concrete activities of cross-cultural communication.The translation of words with distinct cultural characteristics is often a complex and cannot be avoided.In this paper,putting the Japanese translation edition of"生死疲劳"(Life and Death are wearing me out)as the text,and based on Nida’s functional equivalence theory to examine.Investigated the translation methods of the words that having distinctive cultural characteristics in Japanese translation edition.This article explored from the five angles.the title·the people’s name·geographical name,the time language,the idiom,the abusive language and the cultural related words.Regarded the idiom which is the best illustrations of Chinese traditional culture and language charm as key point.It was divided into phrase,proverb and allegorical sayings.The paper explored how the translators had used formal equivalence and functional equivalence to maximize the representation of the original semantics.In this paper,the translation to words embodied the dialectical use of formal equivalence and functional equivalence.It reproduced the original information and reflected the author’s original intention as much as possible.And the form equivalence enables the reader to experience the exotic Sentiment,the functional equivalence that gives the reader almost the same experience as the original reader.Through the analysis of the Japanese translation edition of Life and Death are wearing me out,hoped this article will help translator to solve some thorny problems in the translation process,especially in the translation of the words with distinct cultural characteristics.And then,wished it can be able to work the certain reference function to Excellent Chinese literature translate into Japanese and even other languages.
