Navigation radar communication systems’ array antenna usually require the beam of cosecant-squared shape and low side lobe level.This paper design a array antenna system with cosecant-squared beam based on x-band.The model of this antenna system is small and having a stable structure,and it could achieve shape of cosecant-squared beam.So,it has a high value of research and application in the navigation antenna.The main research of this paper as follows:1.Based on basic antennas’ theory,it designed and optimized a rectangular microstrip patch antenna and a printed dipole antenna,and production and testing the printed dipole antenna.It makes the microstrip antenna unit to realize the broadband width and high gain.And we manufactured and tested for the printed dipole antenna.2.Starting with array antenna theory as the foundation,we designed a array antenna with cosecant-squared beam.It set up a 16 units rectangular microstrip patch antenna array model and a 16 units printed dipole antenna array model.Using the adaptive genetic algorithm and the beam scanning method realized the two antenna array model’s shape of cosecant-squared beam.3.Designed a new serially fed structure Gysel power divider with fixed amplitude and phase-only control.This power divider amplitude as a fixed value and only using the phase to control antenna’s beamforming.Compared with the traditional power dividers,it use less time to complete the design.And we manufactured and tested for the fed structure Gysel power divider.4.The power divider with printed dipole antenna array formed an array antenna system,the simulation results show that the output of the new power divider suitable for the printed dipole antenna arrays’cosecant-squared beamforming.We made the antenna’s real model and testing for it,the results show that the antenna system on the X-band can meet the requirements of the cosecant-squared beam.
